|Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA)
May 9, 2012
EMForum.org was pleased to host a one hour presentation and interactive discussion Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Our topic was the recently published Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Guide (CPG) 201.
The guide provides a comprehensive approach for identifying and assessing risks and associated impacts and expands on existing risk methodologies by broadening the factors considered in the process, incorporating the whole community throughout the entire process, and by accounting for important community-specific factors.
Our guest was Donald "Doc" Lumpkins, Executive Director of FEMA's PPD-8 Program Executive Office since mid-2011. Doc Lumpkins also serves as Branch Chief, National Planning Coordination and Assistance, National Preparedness Directorate. In this position he oversees the development of national planning doctrine, catastrophic preparedness planning initiatives, and tailored technical assistance programs.
The Webinar Recording is now available. This is a large file and requires Windows Media Player or Windows Media Components for QuickTime or a similar product to view.
